It’s been some time since we’ve had a strip where Vayda tries to chase Casey down, however, she’s still after him.

I never had this issue when he was growing up.  Since my mom cooked everything with bacon grease from the can, I ate it all.  Kids are like this now because stuff is ‘healthy’, and it DOES taste funny.  You’d be amazed how much you can improve a sterile, healthy dish with a small application of bacon. | Production Journal

Well, believe it or not, this strip marks the 500th strip since we started back in 2004.  A lot of hiatuses, life in general, prevented us from getting here faster. 

Yep, the real Casey graduates today.  I’m sure this will be one of those days where I’ll be running around like crazy, so I went ahead and posted this one early.   Casey sure has turned out to be a good guy.  Every parent should have one or two just like him!  Congrats, old boy!

I’ll bet you guys who have us bookmarked are scratching your heads on this Saturday morning.  Usually, when old Moose decides to come back from hiatus, there’s emails that go out and something to get your attention. Not this time.  This time, Casey and Scotty comes back, once a week when possible, no apologies, no excuses. 

I made the decision that since the real Casey is graduating and his mom and I will be spending all our money for college, I needed a cheap hobby and fortunately, I already had one!

As usual, while we were away, I had the chance to do some sketchwork, and made some changes to the style of the comic.  Not sure if I’ll ever quit tweaking the look.  I think this is really because when we started, I drew in a simpler style since Casey was a little guy and it was easier for him to draw simple characters.  Now that he’s older and busy with other things, no reason I cannot go back to a style closer to the way I like to draw.  Hope everyone likes the new style.

Although I’m bringing back the main cast, and we’ll see other characters from time to time, I’m going to focus on the main five, Casey, Scotty, Zach, Vayda and Nub.   Of course, the USS Quisenberry is still an important component of the action, don’t worry.

CASEY Except, I was standing in one place, waiting for a long, long time. Every so often, something would start to happen, and then, nothing. People would stop by to see me and ask me what I was doing, and I didn't have a good answer.

Hey Gang – Well, as you may have noticed, it’s been a long time since Casey and Scotty has been updated (as you can tell, the guys are NOT amused).  Long story short, it was a seriously busy summer, and since this is Casey’s senior year, it has not slowed down. 

I think this comic holds the world record for number of hiatuses without throwing in the towel.  But, I want to be able to come back to it when and if I get time.

So, until I get back to it, enjoy some of my favorite webcomics that are NOT on hiatus, including: Pinkerton by Mike Witmer, Moon Town by Steve Ogden, and Dog Eat Doug by Brian Anderson.  Give these guys your support, and tell them that the Moose sent ya.
