So, I have been best friends with my buddy for 30 years. Great guy, scholar, gentleman, connoisseur of fine blue tee-shirts. We’ve been working the booth together for years. And every year without fail, he says ’Get me some good songs’. I compile some good tunes from my vast CD collection, cassette and vinyl collection (OK, so I have a vast CD collection and a few cassettes and records), and without fail, only 1 or 2 songs make the grade because of innuendo or language. And, since I don’t want to get him fired, I pull lyrics, listen to endless hours of songs I have listened to 100 times before, only to find that, possibly, the meaning of a song meant something other than what I thought it did since 1977.
Can’t we just enjoy the melody, people?
To the right, picture from a couple hours before high school graduation in 1988. Dig the awesome 1980′s mullets and my rockin’ ‘smoked’ glasses. As you can tell, these two guys favor Mr. Micheals and Moose JUST a bit. I had a tad more hair back then. Hard to believe I weigh as much now as both of these sly dogs put together in 1988. ARGH.
Quick update on our new dog CHUCK NORRIS for readers away at college. He’s healing nicely and still awesome.
